Alpha-Core Inc., based in Shelton, Connecticut was founded in 1982 as a manufacturer of toroidal cores of grain-oriented silicon steel for the emerging industry of manufacturers of toroidal power transformers. Over the years Alpha-Core has expanded its product lines and today serve two distinct markets, one is its original transformer manufacturing industry and the other is the professional and consumer audio market.

Transformer Manufacturing Our business unit responsible for cores, machinery and materials for the Transformer Manufacturing Industry, now offers besides the conventional toroidal cores, the new O-core, and custom E- and C-cores. Other products include winding machinery for both toroidal and bobbin winding, flat magnet wire, insulated copper and aluminum foil for RFI and EMI shielding, Mylar film, mounting hardware for toroidal transformers, transformer testing system

Audio Products The business unit for audio products was created in 1993 when the Goertz brand of low inductance audio speaker wire and interconnect cable were introduced. These product lines were complimented in 1995 with a line of air core, foil conductors for cross over circuits in high-end speaker systems. The latest addition is a balanced symmetrical and isolation power supply designed to eliminate distortion of the sound system due to dc components on the power line.
